MTWDA presents the second annual Missoula BarCamp, Saturday, April 18, 2009 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm at MonTEC located at 1121 E. Broadway in Missoula. Missoula BarCamp is dedicated to bringing bright people in the Missoula area together to develop a base of expertise and excellence in our community in technology and the arts to support our local non-profit sector. It’s very exciting and humbling for MTWDA’s director Jennifer Stephens to be listed in the People to Watch section of the Spring 2008 issue of Montana Business & Technology magazine (p. 25), a publication of the Montana Governor’s Office of Economic Development. But she didn’t get there looking for the limelight for herself, the light is shining due to the excitement she and her husband, web designer Nathan Stephens, have for the MTWDA. They didn’t imagine that their enthusiasm and passion for creating an active and interactive community to unite Montana’s disperse population of web designers and developers would catch the interest of the state as a whole. The attention, however, is appreciated and it is hoped the publicity generated from this publication, along with other efforts, will help bring the MTWDA from a well-formed idea set to a fully functioning organization that helps Montana’s web development community to prosper relationally, educationally, and financially by providing networking and educational opportunities which they hope will lead to increased business opportunities for web professionals across the state.
